8 Live Pubs and Wine Bars to Visit in Bangkok at Night | From Rock and Blues Bands to Natural Wine
For a Bangkok night filled with live music and wine, stop by a pub or wine bar. The options range from a rock pub that has been going strong for more than 30 years and an alley bar with blues drifting through the room, to a Khao San live venue packed with young Thais and laid-back natural wine bars where you can linger over a glass. Here are eight spots for a freer, livelier evening than a quiet night spent mainly in jazz bars.

1. The Rock Pub
Opened in 1987, this pub is an icon of Bangkok’s rock and metal scene. After more than 30 years at Hollywood Building in Ratchathewi, it moved near BTS Sanam Pao. Almost every night, the house band and guest cover bands deliver high-energy sets spanning hard rock, metal, and alternative. The live shows really get going around 10 p.m.

2. Bangkok Mojo * Music Lovers' Club
A small live bar tucked into a Charoenkrung alley, founded by musicians and a sister venue to Adhere the 13th Blues Bar, featured in our jazz bar guide. The playlist leans toward blues, jazz, funk, and rock from the ’60s through the ’90s, and the sound is known to be excellent. Saturday’s 10 p.m. Chicago blues set is especially popular. There’s a minimum of one drink per person.

3. Black Cabin
Catch local bands playing everything from jazz and soul to indie rock and blues at this live bar. Cocktails made with Thai ingredients make it a good place to enjoy a drink while listening. Shows start at 9 p.m., so it’s an easy stop after dinner.

4. Brick Bar
A large live music venue enclosed by red brick, tucked inside Buddy Lodge on Khao San Road. Most of the crowd is made up of Thai university students and young locals. Thai ska, reggae, and Thai rock bands take turns on stage at 8 p.m., 10 p.m., and midnight. Come for the local party atmosphere rather than a quiet listening session. IDs are checked at the entrance, so bring your passport or a photo of it.

5. Mod Kaew Wine Bar
A natural wine bar with a wide selection of small-producer, rare, and orange wines. Settle into its relaxed atmosphere, listen to DJ sets, and share a few dishes with your wine. The energy lasts late into the night, and a budget of around 1,000 baht per person should be enough.

6. Salon Kiku
A natural wine bar that also works as a listening room. Vintage Altec speakers and a turntable carry everything from jazz to Thai funk and disco. Live performances are held here, too, and the rotating list of around 50 wines—including orange wines—makes it a lovely place to discover something new alongside the music.

7. No Bar Wine Bar
What began as an online natural wine bottle shop has grown into a cozy neighborhood wine bar in Ari. Enjoy a rotating by-the-glass selection in a relaxed space of concrete floors, green plants, and soft lighting. Wines from less familiar regions such as Georgia and Serbia are a highlight, as are snacks with a distinctly Thai touch.

A small, easygoing neighborhood wine bar on Bamrung Mueang Road in the Old Town. It offers natural, organic, and orange wines at approachable prices, along with local craft beer and non-alcoholic drinks. It’s a nice place for a casual evening drink after exploring the old city’s temples and lanes. When I visited with a 7 p.m. reservation, it was quiet and pleasant, but later every table filled up. If you’re planning to go later in the evening, booking ahead is highly recommended.
