What places does ThaiTripMap feature?

ThaiTripMap is a travel map featuring local restaurants and cafés in Bangkok and Pattaya, along with nightlife spots such as live pubs, jazz bars, wine bars, cocktail bars, and rooftop venues—all gathered on one map.

Tap a location on the map to see its description, opening hours, price range, Google rating, and real visit videos by YouTubers. City travel guides also cover attraction hours and admission fees, how to get from the airport to the city, and itineraries for different trip lengths.

How do you select places?

We consider the following criteria together.

Places with a Google rating of at least 4.0 and a substantial number of reviews.

We prioritize long-standing local favorites, restaurants selected by the MICHELIN Guide (including Bib Gourmand), and places featured by local and international travel publications.

We list only places with signs of activity within the past year, such as visitor reviews or official posts.

For nightlife, we select only places where you can enjoy music, drinks, and the atmosphere.

What do “Verified” and “Visited by the editor” mean?

“Verified” means the operator has confirmed through Google Maps and recent visit records that the place is still open.

“👣 Visited by the editor” means the operator has been there in person. However, we do not list a place if recent reviews have worsened, even if we have visited it. The food and service may have changed since the visit.

Who writes the descriptions?

The descriptions and editor’s notes are compiled by ThaiTripMap after comparing Korean-, English-, and Thai-language blogs, local publications, travel guides, and businesses’ official channels. We do not reproduce source text verbatim, and we identify the sources consulted at the bottom of each place page.

Content written in Korean is also provided in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Russian, German, and French using AI translation.

What places do you not feature?

We do not feature adult entertainment venues such as go-go bars, hostess bars, adult shows, or sensual massage parlors. We also leave out chain businesses and hotel buffets unless they are representative of the city.

How is information updated?

When we add a new place or receive a tip, we recheck whether it is open and its opening hours. Places confirmed to have closed are removed right away. For attractions, we include the date we checked their hours and admission fees.

Opening hours and prices may change depending on the business, so please check the latest information using each place’s “View on Google Maps” button before visiting.

Videos and copyright

Videos on place pages are publicly shared visit videos displayed using YouTube’s official embed feature. Copyright for each video belongs to its respective creator. If a video creator does not want their video shown, we will remove it upon request.
